About Me
Hello! I'm Sunghee – a math enthusiast, tech advocate, deep thinker, and above all, a people person. I'm passionate about math, convex optimization, technolgoy, AI, cognitive science, natural sciences, biotech, medical tech & science, philosophy, theology, history, enlightenment, and mindfulness, but more than anything else, I love exploring the intersections of technology with business, markets, economy, sustainability, and society.
I am a firm believer in the power of human connection and the importance of finding meaning and values in our communities, rather than blindly pursuing development and progress, especially in the realms of technology and economy. (You can find out more about me here especially around my professional life.)
Welcome to my space, where I share my insights and values. Let's connect!

Mathematics Genealogy Project
Here is a huge (but obviously not exhausive) mathematician genealogy directed graph where I found I can be related to Johann Bernoulli, Leonhard Euler, Jean-Baptiste Joseph Fourier, Siméon Denis Poisson, Pierre-Simon Laplace, Carl Friedrich Gauß, Rudolf Otto Sigismund Lipschitz, and C. Felix (Christian) Klein along various paths. (Here are some additional graphs varying in size - 10 15 20 30.) (Source: Mathematics Genealogy Project)
For example, I am related to Carl Friedrich Gauß because
- he was an advisor of Christian Ludwig Gerling,
- who was an advisor of Julius Plüfccker,
- who was an advisor of C. Felix (Christian) Klein,
- who was an advisor of C. L. Ferdinand (Carl Louis) Lindemannt,
- who was an advisor of Arnold Johannes Wilhelm Sommerfeld,
- who was an advisor of Ernst Adolph Guillemin,
- who was an advisor of Robert Mario Fano,
- who was an advisor of Charles Auguste Desoer,
- who was an advisor of Prof. Stephen P. Boyd at Stanford University,
- who is a former advisor of mine!
My Piano Story - Finding Joy in Every Note

The piano has become an integral part of my life, though I can't pinpoint exactly when or how this love affair began. While I may not possess the innate talent of Arthur Rubinstein, I've discovered a unique gift—excellent sight-reading (Prima vista in Italian) skill, that is, the ability to play pieces remarkably well at first sight.
This skill, combined with the sheer joy of creating music, has fueled my passion for the instrument. There's something magical about sitting at the keys, knowing that I can bring forth a symphony of sounds with just my fingertips. It's this sense of wonder and accomplishment that keeps me coming back to the piano time and time again.
My love for the piano deepened in an unexpected moment during my ninth-grade year in 1990. As I was playing one day, I was suddenly overwhelmed by a profound feeling—one that I still struggle to put into words. In that instant, I understood more clearly than ever before why music is beautiful. I believe I touched upon the same emotion that has drawn countless others into the world of music. Since that day, the piano has become an inseparable part of who I am.
In this section of my blog, I'm excited to share some of my recordings with you. Though I'm an amateur, I hope you can sense the love and joy that infuse every note I play.

Seminars, special lectures, consultations & insight-sharing sessions
Here is (not quite) a comprehensive list of invited talks, lectures, consultations, panel discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions that I have delivered and organized (and continue to deliver and organize) across prestigious academic institutions, leading corporations, government organizations, and international forums on transformative technologies and critical social topics including Large Language Models (LLMs), generative AI (genAI), AI Agents, private AI, homomorphic cryptography, industrial AI applications, semiconductor manufacturing innovations, and the broader societal, economic, and ethical implications of artificial intelligence. These engagements span from intimate executive consultations with Fortune 500 companies to large-scale university seminars, from policy discussions with government leaders to technical deep-dives with research teams, reflecting my commitment to bridging the gap between cutting-edge AI research and practical real-world applications across diverse domains and stakeholder communities.
These seminars serve as dynamic intellectual laboratories where cutting-edge research meets real-world application. My purpose extends beyond simply sharing knowledge—these engagements create vibrant ecosystems of cross-pollinating ideas where academic rigor intersects with industry pragmatism. Through deep Q&A exchanges with diverse audiences and collaborative discussions with leading professors, researchers, and industry pioneers, I gain invaluable insights into how AI technology is being perceived, adopted, and challenged across different sectors and cultural contexts. Each interaction reveals new perspectives on implementation challenges, ethical considerations, and societal implications that cannot be gleaned from research papers or industry reports alone. These exchanges have proven invaluable to my own ventures, often revealing unexpected market opportunities and leading to critical strategic partnerships that directly benefit Erudio Bio, WeStory.ai, and my collaborations with CryptoLab.

The intellectual synthesis that emerges from these exchanges organically crystallizes into uniquely differentiated insights that transcend traditional disciplinary boundaries. Conversations about AI's philosophical implications with humanities scholars inform my understanding of consciousness and creativity, while discussions with biotech researchers illuminate the convergence of artificial and biological intelligence—insights that directly shape Erudio Bio's strategic direction. Exchanges with cryptography experts deepen my appreciation for privacy-preserving technologies, strengthening my advisory role at CryptoLab, and dialogues with medical professionals reveal the profound ethical dimensions of AI in healthcare while uncovering potential technological partnerships. This continuous intellectual cross-fertilization generates novel intuitions about not only AI's technological trajectory, but its ripple effects across homomorphic cryptography, blockchain, digital communications, biotechnology, medical science, pharmacology, and nano-science. These organically-formed insights then flow back into the academic and industry communities through subsequent lectures, consultations, and collaborative research, creating a virtuous cycle of knowledge creation and dissemination that advances both theoretical understanding and practical innovation while simultaneously identifying strategic opportunities that fuel my entrepreneurial endeavors.
